About Me

Kim Y. Lau

I am currently a Liu Scholar with the Liu Institute for Global Issues and a Ph.D. student at the Institute for Resources, Environment & Sustainability (IRES) of The University of British Columbia, located in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Climate change and its impacts constitutes one of the most difficult challenges that mankind faces today and into the foreseeable future. This challenge is unique in requiring an international, multi-disciplinary and sustained approach, involving not only technological innovations but also changes in how we organize society and carry out our lives on a day-to-day basis.

Drawing upon my previous experiences in government, the energy utility industry and a non-profit organization, I hope to make my small contribution to the advancement of knowledge in this crucial area and help catalyze the adoption of creative policies, approaches and solutions that work.
